Joe and Susan

PARRISH:How perfect for you -- to take whatever you want because it pleases you. It's not love --
JOE:Then what is it?
PARRISH:Some aimless infatuation in which, for the moment, you feel like indulging. It's missing everything that matters.
JOE:Which is what?
PARRISH:Trust, responsibility, taking the weight, for your choices and feelings and spending the rest of your life living up to them. And above all, not hurting the object of your love.
JOE:So that's what love is?
PARRISH:Multiply it by infinity and take it to the death of forever and you will still have barely a glimpse of what I am talking about.
JOE:Those were my words, Bill.
PARRISH:Well, they're mine now.

Ahhhh! a very good definition of love..when i have felt its real hold on me, I said "This is not really love we feel. We just borrowed the term.. But it is really LOVELOVELOVELOVELOVELOVELOVELOVELOVELOVELOVE
LOVELOVELOVELOVELOVELOVELOVELOVELOVE......." (not as eloquently put as Bill Parrish's words, but still same point :D )

... multiplied by infinity, taken to the death (depth kaya ito?) of forever. Death (in the form of Joe) felt it and sure enough did the right thing at the end..He let go of his loved one and let her live on with the actual person she fell in love with.

charles and carrie

i was inspired by this movie not only because of the handsome actor but of the liberal issue..of marriage and love

"charles has always been afraid of tying the knot...when he met the american carrie (at a friend's wedding), sparks flew and they spent the night together as lovers, but when confronted with the question of when they were going to announce the engagement, charles stammered something about being hasty...but in his heart he knew that she is the one...

for a time she became the one who got away, getting married to an older man..but on charles' wedding day (to 'duckface,' one of his countless ex-girlfriends) he found out that she was divorced and more importantly, he found out that he still loves her...

well, the jilted bride gave him a good punch and he was free to pursue his true love...in the concluding dialog in the rain, charles asked carrie to not marry him for the rest of their lives"

i thought it was very romantic...i watched this movie in highschool and i got connected with the actor eversince...

love should be faced as love...sometimes people tend to view love as just a prerequisite to marriage, with marriage their ultimate goal..but love in itself is a goal, which you can say stems many more blessings if you accept it as it is...

[Four Weddings and a Funeral]

saying goodbye

"It's over. i've said it, it being 'i have to stop seeing you.' and when i tried to explain, he cut me short and said there's no need. 'we both know this is what we should be doing.' he said. i wanted to argue. i wanted to hear my explanation, to see if it was really logical.

he said we cannot be Jedi knights because we think too much. i agreed, that was one of the things we we really had in common, but i said that we weren't that logical the last two weeks.

...and he cried and i wanted to reach out and hug him. he said that he was going to miss me, he asked me to always take care of myself, always, always he said.....

we thanked each other. not just for the couple of weeks ago, but for everything, from way back. he said he doesn't know why i thank him when he has so much to thank me for, so many things he said...from the first time we had our talk at shakey's (2001)...

i thanked him for that call from JP when i was on my way out from the dorm.. i remember i wanted to come with him and we joked that i plant myself in a yellow luggage bag and he would pick me up at the airport (2002)...

we were so sweet to each other (as friends) then, it seems just logical that we feel this way now...but just as logical that we not see each other anymore...it's all so logical, it's unfair..."
